Dear RCES Families,
Welcome to a brand-new school year! I hope your summer was filled with rest, joy, and time with loved ones. As we open our doors for the 2025–2026 school year, I want to extend my heartfelt welcome to each of you—whether you are returning to Rappahannock County Elementary School or joining us for the first time, we are so glad you’re here.
RCES is a special place where students are nurtured, challenged, and encouraged to grow both academically and personally. Our dedicated staff has been hard at work preparing classrooms, refining curriculum, and building a positive, safe, and engaging environment for all learners. We are committed to fostering strong relationships, celebrating the uniqueness of every child, and working hand-in-hand with families to ensure student success.
This year, you’ll see a continued focus on social-emotional learning, student-centered instruction, and high academic expectations. We’ll also be celebrating the power of community—within our classrooms, throughout our school, and across Rappahannock County. Together, we will build a culture where kindness, respect, curiosity, and resilience are the foundation of everything we do.
Please know that communication and partnership are essential. I encourage you to stay connected through our school website, newsletters, and regular updates. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions, concerns, or ideas.
Here’s to a year of learning, laughter, and limitless potential. Let’s make 2025–2026 our best year yet!
With appreciation,
Jacqueline Lowe-Barton
Principal, RCES
